In 2009, a record-breaking $53 million was raised for President Obama's first inaugural festivities, despite a cap of $50,000 per donation, reports the New York Times. With no such cap in place, President Trump's inaugural committee says it raised twice as much at a whopping $107 million, reports the Washington Post. According to a Federal Election Commission filing, casino mogul Sheldon Adelson gave $5 million, Boeing and Kraft Group each gave $1 million, Quicken Loans donated $750,000, and Microsoft and Citgo Petroleum each gave $500,000, reports Politico. Google, Pepsi, Ford, and UPS each donated $250,000. Trump's team says it is identifying charities to receive remaining funds, though it isn't clear how much remains. (More President Trump stories.)
