The Washington Post is out with a clarification for the ages about Sean Spicer. Here it is in full:

  • "EDITOR'S NOTE: This story has been updated to more precisely describe White House press secretary Sean Spicer's location late Tuesday night in the minutes before he briefed reporters. Spicer huddled with his staff among bushes near television sets on the White House grounds, not 'in the bushes,' as the story originally stated."

If this makes little sense, that means you missed the Spicer fuss that sparked countless memes. The original Post story said Spicer hid in the bushes with his staff late Tuesday to figure out how to deal with reporters in the wake of the James Comey firing. Online ridicule quickly followed, with the most common joke being Spicer's face superimposed on Homer Simpson's body as he, yes, hides in bushes. But there were plenty of others, and HuffPost rounds up some favorites. Spicer, meanwhile, isn't doing the daily media briefings this week, with the White House explaining that he's fulfilling Navy Reserve duties. (More Sean Spicer stories.)
