A British journalist was fatally attacked by a crocodile while vacationing with friends in Sri Lanka. Financial Times journalist and Oxford graduate Paul McClean, 24, was washing his hands in a river near a popular surfing spot when a crocodile attacked, dragging him from shore, witnesses say. Fishermen rushed to help but lost sight of McClean as he was pulled underwater, a resident tells the BBC. Divers later found McClean's body, with several wounds on his right leg, in a lagoon, per the Guardian. "Paul McClean was an outstanding young journalist with a great future at the FT. We will miss him sorely," Financial Times editor Lionel Barber writes on Twitter.
