"The Simpsons" may be a pop culture staple in South America, but they sure have a knack for stirring up trouble there. A week after Venezuela objected to its content, Argentines are in a huff over anti-Perón comments in a new episode, the Washington Post reports. Says Homer's pal Carl: "When he disappeared you, you stayed disappeared." But what really got them riled was an aside from Lenny: "Plus, he was married to Madonna."

It was a coy reference to the pop star's lead role in 1996's Evita, but "that was too much," said one former congressman. Most Argentines don't consider Juan Peron a dictator and blame his successors for dissidents' deaths. Still, don't hold your breath waiting for an apology. "We won't rest till we've aggravated every country on Earth," says the show's producer. (More Argentina stories.)
