The "In Memoriam" segment at Sunday night's Emmy Awards included one controversial name: Fox News founder Roger Ailes. A sampling of reactions on Twitter:

  • @seanoneal: "My favorite television moment of 2017 years is the cold silence that greeted Roger Ailes during the Emmys In Memoriam."
  • @Smoregasboredom: "Is there a better pick-me-up during the in memoriam than remembering that Roger Ailes is dead?"
  • @MaddieBurton47: "Roger Ailes in the In Memoriam? Really? Can we not stop rewarding sexual harassers even after they're dead?"
  • @thekrissychula: "....yall didn't have to mention roger ailes. we wanted him gone."

  • @Speed_e: "They really had Roger Ailes in this memorial."
  • @joyellenicole: "Hey #Emmys you know how you don't have time to honor everyone that died (cough Dick Gregory) y'all could've done that with Roger Ailes."
  • @AlishaGrauso: "Roger Ailes, but no Harry Dean Stanton on the #Emmys in memoriam reel. Cool."
  • @andizeisler: "RT if you threw something at yr TV when Roger Ailes came up in the 'In Memoriam' montage."
  • @MarkHarrisNYC: "Touching shoutout to Roger Ailes in hell during the Emmys In Memoriam montage."
  • @cmclymer: "Zero applause for Roger Ailes in the In Memoriam segment. *sips tea*"
  • @KevinMcCaff: "not saying this proudly, but Roger Ailes is responsible for the first time I ever laughed out loud during an In Memoriam segment."
