Iran's president asked the United Nations nuclear chief to confirm it still adheres to the nuclear deal with world powers after President Trump refused to re-certify the accord, and al-Jazeera reports that he got his wish. "The IAEA can state that the nuclear-related commitments made by Iran under the JCPOA are being implemented," Yukiya Amano, the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency said at a press conference Sunday in Tehran. President Hassan Rouhani's office quoted him as telling Amano that Iran's adherence to the deal "has been complete and remarkable," reports the AP.

Rouhani described the nuclear deal "as an important achievement ... and we must consolidate this important international commitment with full cooperation." Amano met with Iranian officials during his visit Sunday in Tehran. Trump's refusal to recertify the deal has sent the agreement to the US Congress. (The Ayatollah has said it's no use responding to Trump's "whoppers.")
