The New York Times has found a police report embarrassing to the FBI and to one counterterrorism supervisor in particular. It seems the unit chief tied one on while in North Carolina for training, hooked up with an "exotic dancer" at a hotel bar, took her back to his room, and woke to find that she'd stolen his gun, his $6,000 watch, and a small amount of cash, per the Times. More precisely, another agent made the discovery and called police, because the victim was still incapacitated by booze when officers arrived at 6:30am.

Robert Manson, who oversees terror investigations in the Midwest and the Carolinas, is now the subject of an internal investigation. Police in Charlotte haven't made any arrests or recovered the gun, which was a compact Glock 27. The last fact prompted this line in the Times story: "Federal law allows agents to carry concealed weapons while off duty, but not while they are intoxicated." (More FBI stories.)
