The New York Times over the weekend detailed President Trump's daily routine, and the paper painted television as a major part of it. Not so, declared Trump in a Monday morning tweet. The article characterized him as watching four to eight hours a day, though it noted the sound is sometimes muted, and described his fare as CNN, Fox News, and MSNBC's Morning Joe. "Another false story, this time in the Failing @nytimes, that I watch 4-8 hours of television a day," Trump tweeted in response. "Wrong! Also, I seldom, if ever, watch CNN or MSNBC, both of which I consider Fake News. I never watch Don Lemon, who I once called the 'dumbest man on television!' Bad Reporting." The article described him as sometimes "hate-watching" Lemon.
The Times itself covered the president's tweet and includes this statement from a rep for the paper: "We stand by our reporting, sourced from interviews with 60 advisers, associates, friends, and members of Congress, including many who interact with President Trump every day."
