Cops: Mom Used Taser to Get Son Up for Church
Sharron Dobbins.   (Maricopa County Sheriff's Office)

It's not acceptable to use a Taser to get your child up for church, police say—even on Easter Sunday. Arizona mother Sharron Dobbins was arrested on suspicion of child abuse after allegedly using a stun gun on her 17-year-old son early Sunday morning, the Sacramento Bee reports. She told police she "only sparked the Taser to get the kids up for church on Easter," according to court documents. An 18-year-old family member was a witness. Dobbins, 40, told police she didn't actually use the Taser on anybody, but officers found two bumps on the teen's leg, the Arizona Republic reports. In a court appearance Monday, Dobbins said the 17-year-old is on probation and wears an ankle bracelet. She was released on the condition she find somewhere else for the teen to live and give up any weapons, including the Taser. (More Arizona stories.)
