It was a mixed finish on Wall Street as large-company stocks eked out modest gains but smaller ones ended lower after a wobbly day of trading, the AP reports. Big health care, energy and retailing stocks posted gains Wednesday. Boeing jumped 4.2%, helping the Dow Jones industrial average break a five-day losing streak. Exxon Mobil rose 1.5% after raising its dividend. Bond yields rose again, sending the yield on the 10-year Treasury note up to 3.02%, its highest level since early 2014. The S&P 500 index rose 4 points, or 0.2%, to 2,639. The Dow rose 59 points, or 0.4%, to 24,083. The Nasdaq composite gave up 3 points, or 0.1%, to 7,003. The Russell 2000 of smaller company stocks fell 2 points, or 0.2%, to 1,550. (More stock market stories.)
