A Texas superintendent has resigned after drawing widespread ire for comments he made on Facebook about the inferiority of black quarterbacks. Per the Houston Chronicle, Lynn Redden of the Onalaska school district officially stepped down in a letter sent Saturday to the president of the school board. "As an educator, this experience has taught me that I still have a lot to learn," Redden wrote. "My comments were not only uninformed but also hurtful, and I understand now why they were offensive to so many people." Per the Dallas News, Redden believed he was commenting on a private thread when he wrote on the Chron.com Facebook page in response to a play by black Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson last week: "When you need precision decision making you can't count on a black quarterback."
