Stocks are finishing mostly lower on Wall Street as losses by financial and health care companies offset gains elsewhere in the market, the AP reports. Chubb fell 1.2% Tuesday and Johnson & Johnson lost 1.3%. Airlines had another bad day as oil prices rose, which could translate into higher fuel costs for carriers. American Airlines gave up 2.8%. The S&P 500 index fell 3 points, or 0.1%, to 2,915, its third loss in a row. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gave up 69 points, or 0.3%, to 26,492. Technology companies held up better than the rest of the market. The Nasdaq composite gained 14 points, or 0.2%, to 8,007. (More stock market stories.)
