Paul Caneiro's wife and two daughters were inside the home that he stands charged with setting ablaze, and they are set to testify on his behalf when he returns to court on Wednesday, his lawyer, Robert Honecker, tells ABC News. Wife Susan and daughters Marissa and Katelyn escaped the house in Ocean Township, NJ, safely and "fully support him." Earlier, Honecker took it a step farther, telling the Patch that, "In the criminal complaint, his family is listed as the intended victims. But they firmly believe that he actually saved them. He was the one who woke them up and get them out of the house" when fire broke out around 5am. Thus far, Caneiro has been charged only with aggravated arson at his own home; no charges have been filed in the blaze that broke out at his brother's nearby mansion, nor in the quadruple homicide of Keith Caneiro, wife Jennifer, and their two young children.
