Hootie & the Blowfish Is Back

Get excited, people of a certain age: Hootie & the Blowfish is back. Yes, the iconic '90s band is reuniting to celebrate the 25th anniversary of debut album Cracked Rear View, the AP reports. The members of the Darius Rucker-fronted band announced Monday on Today that they are releasing a new album and setting off on a 44-city tour in 2019. "We’re not doing it for us," said Rucker, who's been a successful solo country artist for the past decade. "We’re doing it for those people who used to plan their vacations around the Hootie & the Blowfish tour." The band, which last released an album in 2006, hopes to have a new single out in the spring and the rest of the album done by summer. The tour runs from May 30 to Sept. 30; Hootie will be joined by another '90s group, Barenaked Ladies.
