Jackie Fuchs' winning run on Jeopardy ended Thursday with a Final Jeopardy question on Mozart. The former bassist of the Runaways, in third place going into the round, bet $8,600 on a wrong answer, allowing grad student Andrew Kung to nab $21,000 in winnings. "I have to say it's not my strongest category," the ex-rock star tells Pitchfork of music. The truth is that it wasn't Fuchs' night. Blaming a poor appetite amid months-long stomach issues, she tells TMZ her blood sugar levels crashed before the interview break. "I had this really serious hyperglycemic episode that I thought was a stroke," she says. "I couldn't get my hands to work. My brain was seeing one thing and mouth was saying another."
Though Fuchs expected the moment to be cut from Thursday's show, she said the audience "groaned at one point because I said something so inane. I'm afraid it’s going to be one of the worst moments on Jeopardy ever." She's taking her loss rather well, though. Referencing her claim that Runaways manager Kim Fowley raped her in 1975, Fuchs tells Pitchfork, "It's kind of like that's the worst thing that can happen to you, so you know, losing a game show is not fun, but it just pales in comparison." She adds, "I'm just trying to be the teenager that I probably would have been if I hadn't joined a band. I'm doing trivia, I'm playing board games, and I'm kind of just enjoying life!" (Fuchs still goes home with hefty winnings.)
