They're out and safe. Five men who were trapped in a cave in southwestern Virginia have been rescued, reports CBS News. The men had ventured into the Cyclops Cave in Cleveland Friday night, intending to camp overnight, and heavy rain then made exit impossible. One man escaped early Sunday and alerted authorities, and rescuers pulled out the remaining five, ages 34 to 59, later that same day. They were treated for hypothermia and exhaustion. WJHL reports that the cave, which has been mapped to 7 miles, is on private property, and the owner says the men did not have permission to be there. (More caves stories.)
