A New York cop is accused of trying to kill two people—her ex-husband and her boyfriend's daughter—in a story that reeks of bitterness and resentment, the New York Post reports. According to court papers, Officer Valerie Cincinelli told her boyfriend to hire a hitman for both jobs, but he ratted to the FBI and let them record his conversations with her. "The evidence in this case is overwhelming," says the Brooklyn US Attorney. Authorities say Cincinelli, 34, withdrew $7,000 in February and gave it to her boyfriend to pay the hitman. She even suggested the hitman kill her boyfriend's teenage daughter first and wait a week or two to kill her ex to make them seem unconnected, per court documents.

It all came apart Friday when a detective visited her and lied, saying that her ex-husband, 32-year-old Isaiah Carvalho Jr., had been murdered. She shed tears, but when the detective left, she allegedly planned her alibi with her boyfriend and told him to remove photos from his phone that might be incriminating, per NBC New York. She was soon arrested and faces up to 10 years for use of interstate commerce facilities in the commission of murder-for-hire. Prosecutors haven't divulged a motive for wanting Carvalho dead, but their joint custody of two children was apparently tense. And the lover's 15-year-old daughter? "She was getting in the way," a source says. (A teacher is accused of hiring a hitman to murder a seven-year-old child.)
