Mark Zuckerberg has decided he has more pressing challenges than remembering to wear a tie to work every day, or even learning Mandarin. So for the first time since 2008, he's not announcing a personal goal for the new year. Instead, the Facebook boss will concentrate on the big picture, CNN reports. "Rather than having year-to-year challenges, I've tried to think about what I hope the world and my life will look in 2030 so I can make sure I'm focusing on those things," Zuckerberg, 35, posted Thursday on the site he founded. There will be a lot of change in this decade, he figures: Virtual reality technology could make people feel like they're in the same place when they're not. Successes in fighting disease could add 2.5 years to life expectancy. And his daughter will be in high school.
In addition, Zuckerberg faces a series of issues with his company right now. His lists had evolved to reflect that; his goal for 2018 was to "fix Facebook." So as much as everyone enjoyed reading his resolutions such as “the only meat I’m eating is from animals I’ve killed myself," per the New York Post, Zuckerberg is moving on. Answering an employees comment about the shift, Zuckerberg said, "I think it's called growing up." (The goal for 2019 was broadened beyond Facebook.)
