Rapper DMX, who has battled drug problems for years, is in critical condition after an overdose Friday night, reports TMZ. Reps for the 50-year-old, whose real name is Earl Simmons, have not confirmed the news, though a post at AllHipHop says its sources agree that DMX is "fighting for his life." TMZ reports that DMX is hospitalized in White Plains, New York, after the OD apparently triggered a heart attack. One of its sources says the entertainer is in a vegetative state. DMX made his name on the Ruff Ryders label and also has appeared in several movies, the most recent of which was last year's Fast and Fierce: Death Race. AllHipHop, which reports that he had re-signed with Def Jam in 2019 and was working on new material, notes that DMX's fiancee posted a video of the rapper only a few days ago, and he was in good spirits.
