Larry Elder, longtime host of a syndicated radio talk show and one-time candidate for California governor, said he's thinking about running for the GOP nomination for president—no matter who else does. "I'm not running against anybody on the Republican side," Elder told the Des Moines Register. "I'm running against Joe Biden if he runs, or Kamala Harris if she runs." Former President Donald Trump hasn't declared his candidacy, though he's come close. Assuming he's running, Elder said, "I don't feel I'm running against him."
Elder, 70, started a PAC to help Republican candidates in January, per the Hill, and said he's writing a book about the California recall race, in which Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom kept his job. He dropped his radio program, "The Larry Elder Show," in April. Elder has said he's traveling around the country to campaign for Republican candidates to help the party take control of Congress.
