An American Airlines jet made an emergency landing in Los Angeles today because of a blown tire, the LA Times reports. Flight 1586, carrying 135 people bound for Toronto, circled Los Angeles International Airport for 45 minutes to burn fuel, “diminishing the possibility of having some sort of fire when it lands,” a spokesman explained. “Taking out some of the danger.” (More American Airlines stories.)
