Just months after a messy—and overly public—divorce, Nevada Gov. Jim Gibbons has been slapped with a lawsuit by the Vegas cocktail waitress who claims he assaulted her two years ago and then covered up the police investigation, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports. Chrissy Mazzeo says she's been "pretty much blacklisted" by Strip resorts and wants $10,000 in damages.
After a night out with Gibbons and his pals, Mazzeo says Gibbons tried to rape her; he says he grabbed her arm when she slipped. Mazzeo's suit—denounced by one co-defendant as a "publicity stunt"—also names the police department and various Gibbons cronies. Gibbons will comment "when the time is right," a spokesman said.
