Firemen responding to street blazes had to turn their hoses on uncooperative revelers, and sporadic looting was reported. Still, the overall scene was one of joy at the end of a 28-year drought.
When the Phillies won, a longtime fan and Citizens Bank Park usher cried for minutes. “Other than the births of my children, this is—this is the best night of my life,” she said.
