(AP Photo/Paul Sakuma) The NFL is embracing new technology and exploring the possibility of broadcasting games in 3-D, the Wall Street Journal reports. Select industry insiders and executives have been invited to watch the Dec. 4 Chargers-Raiders game live at private screenings in theaters in LA, Boston, and New York. "We want to demonstrate this and let people get excited about it." says an NFL exec. Viewers must don special glasses to see the game, which special cameras will capture before transmitting the images by satellite. An earlier version allowed the Super Bowl to be filmed and shown in 3-D after the fact, but advances in technology now allow the live feed. "We look forward to giving fans of live events the opportunity to feel like they're in the front row," said the CEO of the company handling the theater end of the process.
