To those Clintonites bashing Caroline Kennedy—the Democratic scion who threw her weight behind Barack Obama in the hard-fought primaries—Hillary Clinton has a message: Pipe down, the New York Daily News reports. Clinton insiders say the soon-to-be secretary of State understands "She's got to be part of the team now. She needs to take her cue from the president-elect."

Clinton "is not for or against anyone in this process," the insider says, and is said to be focusing on her new gig while completely avoiding the behind-the-scenes wrangling for her Senate seat. Though the choice belongs to Gov. David Paterson, Clinton’s tacit approval clears the way for Kennedy, who has emerged as the favorite on Capitol Hill.
