What to See From Sundance

This year’s indie love-fest Sundance spawned several movies that have a shot at real commercial success, with a roster of films showcasing “more old-fashioned storytelling,” writes Andrew O’Hehir in Salon. Jury prizes went to Push and We Live in Public, but here’s a sampling of the films O’Hehir deems unmissable:

• An Education: “Marvelously well-constructed period entertainment with a feminist bite.”

• Humpday: “Witty yarn about two old college buds, both straight, who decide to make a porn film together.”
• I Love You Phillip Morris: “Insane, torn-from-the-headlines romantic farce.”
• The Cove: “Devastating, beautifully shot and occasionally hilarious … cloak-and-dagger investigation of the dolphin slaughter of Taiji, Japan.”
• Burma VJ: “Inspiring and ultimately tragic footage shot by the Democratic Voice of Burma.”
