A little thing like being impeached isn't going to stop Rod Blagojevich from making the media rounds. The ousted Illinois governor showed up on Letterman tonight, and Dave's first question was, "Why exactly are you here, honest to God?" When Blagojevich joked that he's always wanted to be on the show "in the worst way," Letterman responded, "Well, you're on in the worst way, believe me," the Chicago Tribune reports.
A skeptical Letterman is generally good natured throughout the interview, though he presses Blagojevich repeatedly about the corruption allegations. (Blagojevich, as usual, insists he's innocent.) At one point, Letterman asks Blagojevich to "set up the clip" of one of the governor's conversations (this one not profanity-laced), as if it were a movie trailer. "I was afraid you were going to have some of those other tapes where I sounded like Christian Bale," said Blagojevich to laughter, defending them as private conversations.
