Tyson: I Hear Voices

Mike Tyson’s handlers want him to stay on task, to talk about his new movie Tyson. The notorious heavyweight has other ideas. “I’ll talk about anything,” he says. “I’m not ashamed of anything I’ve done in my life.” And talk he does, touching on boxing, on women, on the voices he hears in his head. Tyson is a man without a filter, observes Simon Hattenstone of the Guardian.

Tyson never tries to absolve himself. “I’m not trying to win no friends,” he says. “Sometimes my mind tells me, ‘you think you’ve got these white people fooled—you’re a f---ing fraud.” He denies raping Desiree Washington (“that wretched swine of a woman”) but admits he’s taken advantage of others. “I am ashamed of so many things,” he concludes.
