Bo may have the president of the United States trotting along after him like a kid and the national media swooning, but what goes on in the brain underneath that ball of black fur? The owner of this year's Westminster champ tells the New york Times that pooches become aware of their celebrity. "They know they’re famous," she says, "and they definitely get an attitude." Others beg to differ.

As much as people love to humanize their pooches, “Bo is not walking in the White House right now thinking, ‘I scored!’” says one trainer. The Obamas' pampering may make Bo feel like he's top of the pack, says one psychologist, but “I’m certain there are hundreds of thousands if not millions of dogs who are owned by blue-collar workers who really feel that they are extremely special."
