Tsvangirai Crash Was No Accident: MDC

The car crash that killed Morgan Tsvangirai's wife last month may not have been accidental, the BBC reports, citing early reports from the investigation. Tsvangirai’s political party suspects the collision with a USAID truck was engineered to kill the Zimbabwean PM after he entered a power-sharing agreement with President Robert Mugabe in February.

Tsvangirai was injured in the crash, which ejected his wife of 31 years from their vehicle. They were accompanied by two cars driven by men loyal to Mugabe. Tsvangirai called the tragedy an accident, but his team could benefit from proving Muagbe’s party was behind the crash—which wouldn’t be the first time Zanu-PF was suspected of road sabotage.
