Traders at the online market Intrade.com betting big that President Bush will pardon Scooter Libby. CNN reports that at the "prediction market," where people buy and sell futures contracts on real-world events, 63 percent of traders are bullish on the prospect of Libby receiving a pardon before the end of Bush's term. One in four think a pardon will come before the end of the year.
The Dublin-based Intrade sought to capitalize on the debate raging over Libby's future by offering two contracts, and more may follow. "People are very keyed-up about the Libby pardon," Intrade's founder, John Delaney, told CNN. "Such 'zeal' has converted into thousands of people from all over the globe."
