It seems the French excel at more than kissing—they spend more time eating and sleeping than citizens of other developed countries, a new report finds. The survey of 18 nations, released today, says the French average nearly 9 hours a day in bed and spend 2 full hours eating and drinking—almost double the time Americans, Mexicans, and Canadians spend noshing, the AP reports.
The study notes that while Americans’ total of about an hour and a quarter places them in the middle of eating time, their obesity rates put them at the top. The Turks, meanwhile, are busy entertaining, spending as much as 35% of their time socializing, compared to an average of 11% survey-wide. (More France stories.)
