New DNC Ad Slams GOP's 'Angry Mobs'

In a new online ad, Democrats return fire at “angry mobs” driven by the Republican Party, the Huffington Post reports. “They lost the election. They lost on the Recovery Act, the budget and children’s health care,” says the ad. “Now, desperate Republicans and their well-funded allies are organizing angry mobs. Their goal? Destroy President Obama and stop the change Americans voted for overwhelmingly in November.”

The ad asserts that “the right-wing extremist Republican base”—including the birther movement—has taken over the party. “We aren’t going to back down from this shit,” says an official at the Democratic National Committee, which yesterday emphasized for reporters “particularly outrageous” disruptions at town-hall meetings, hoping “to turn the anger of the crowds into a rallying point for proponents of reform,” writes Sam Stein.
