Old Capone Hideout for Sale
American criminal Al Capone (1899 - 1947). The Saint Valentine's Day massacre cemented his control over the Chicago underworld, he was finally imprisoned for tax evasion and only released when syphilis began to cripple his mind.   (Getty Images)

For a minimum bid of $2.6 million, a remote 407-acre Wisconsin lodge where Al Capone stayed while on the lam can be yours, the Chicago Tribune reports. “Al Capone's hideout retreat,” proclaims an ad run in that paper by a small Wisconsin bank that had the luck to foreclose on the property. “I suppose we thought maybe somebody who still had the nostalgia of it would be interested,” says a bank exec. The sheriff's sale is Oct. 8; 37-acre lake and watchtower included. (More Al Capone stories.)
