Co-Workers: Clark's a 'Control Freak'

Raymond Clark's co-workers at the Yale animal lab where he worked say the murder suspect was a domineering "control freak" who considered the animal cages his territory, a law enforcement source tells AP. Clark was placed in solitary confinement yesterday after being charged with murdering grad student Annie Le, and has now been transferred to a maximum-security prison, the New York Daily News reports.

Clark, whose duties included cleaning mouse cages and sweeping the floor of the lab where Le carried out her experiment, often clashed with researchers, colleagues say. Investigators are looking into a theory that Clark's attitude caused a deadly confrontation with Le over how she treated lab mice, says a police source. New Haven's police chief called the killing "an issue of workplace violence" yesterday but declined to elaborate.
