(AP Photo/Mark Lennihan) Seven and a half tons of steel from the fallen World Trade Center towers returned to New York today, reconstituted as the bow of a newly launched Navy warship. The crew of USS New York stood at attention for a 21-gun salute as the $1 billion amphibious dock landing ship sailed past Ground Zero. "I thought about my son, how proud he is and all of them, how proud they'd be at this moment," the mother of a firefighter who died on 9/11 told the Daily News. The ship will be christened Saturday.
