(AP Photo/Harry Hamburg) If, as Max Baucus says, Tuesday’s elections should be a “wake-up call” for Democrats, Politico knows which lawmakers should be drinking caffeine: Harry Reid: The majority leader is a little like Jon Corzine; an unpopular incumbent in a state where the economy is especially bad. And like Corzine, his strategy so far has been to go negative. Ask Corzine how that worked out. Parker Griffith: “I should be nervous,” says the Blue Dog Alabama congressman; he won with just 51% of the vote in 2008. Chris Dodd: His poll numbers are down, he’s tied heavily to Obama’s agenda, and if Corzine can lose in a heavily Democratic Northeastern state, so could Dodd.
