(AP Photo/Peter Morgan) A rally in financial stocks helped the major indexes overcome a slump in retail shares, pushing stocks to solid gains today and capping a 6.5% rise by the Dow in November, the Wall Street Journal reports. For the day: The Dow rose 34.92 points to close at 10,344.84. The Nasdaq added 6.16, settling at 2,144.60. The S&P 500 gained 4.14 and ended the session at 1,095.63.
