President Obama’s budget director Peter Orszag, whom Rahm Emanuel once credited with making “nerdy sexy,” has scored himself a beautiful fiancee in ABC News correspondent Bianna Golodryaga. Orszag met the decade-younger Golodryaga, 31, at May’s White House Correspondents Dinner. They got engaged over lunch in New York yesterday and will likely marry in October—the start of a new fiscal year for the government’s budget, the Times reports.
In addition to making it into the gossip columns by squiring Golodryaga to several high-profile events during the six months they’ve been dating, Orszag also scores points for one gala event he skipped: The state dinner, famously crashed by the Salahis, which the budget director couldn’t get Golodryaga into. What’s her appeal, other than the obvious? “She’s a Russian Jew who gets up earlier than I do,” he says.
