Conan O'Brien is about to go back on the market—but the late night talk show market is full. "ABC has already said it's not interested in hiring him," writes Patrick Goldstein. "HBO isn't prepared to get into the late-night talk show racket. And Fox has a lot of issues to overcome, starting with a huge lack of enthusiasm from its affiliates." His logical destination: Comedy Central.
"If there were ever a perfect setup for O'Brien, it would be Comedy Central, which already has a powerhouse double bill of Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert," Goldstein writes for the Los Angeles Times. "The money wouldn't be the same, but I think it would be a liberating, low-pressure experience." O'Brien also has an open invitation from a San Francisco web video firm, the Chronicle reports. A Revision3 exec promises a "competitive" salary, adding, "You're going to have more money than Oprah from NBC, so what do you care?"
