No White House Dreams for Rice

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice was grilled yesterday about her dreams, sleep patterns and  White House ambitions (she doesn't have any, she claims). It was not nightmarish testimony on Capitol Hill but a visit to a Harlem school and a rare foray into the domestic arena for Rice, who told students that for someone with a powerful job she doesn't often feel very powerful.

But she is often fearless. Asked if she was afraid to go to war zones, Rice responded: "I wouldn't say that I am afraid to go to those places. I have people who take very good care of me." She also ruled out a White House run. "I don't think I am the kind of person who will run for president," she explained. (More secretary of state stories.)
