For Conan O'Brien, getting booted from his favorite job was more than a professional insult—it very nearly devastated him, he told 60 Minutes in his first interview since the Tonight Show fiasco. O'Brien said he "got very depressed at times. It was like a marriage breaking up suddenly, violently, quickly," but noted that his recent tour helped lift his spirits. "There is almost no better antidote to what I’ve just been through than to do this every night," O'Brien continued.

Coco's wife, Liza, described the debacle as "just really, really hard for him. It was like watching someone’s heart get broken.”
