Looking to close out their first-round playoff series this weekend, the Colorado Rockies are focused on more than just baseball, the Denver Post reports. Manager Clint Hurdle revealed yesterday that his players voted to give a share of their playoff income to the widow of a minor league coach killed by a line drive to the head earlier this season.

“When I heard about what the players did, I almost cried,” Rockies GM Dan O’Dowd said. Mike Coolbaugh, 35, was first-base coach for Colorado's Double-A Tulsa affiliate when he died in July. His widow, Amanda, is expecting the couple's third child this month. The playoff share could be worth as much as $362,000 if the Rockies win the World Series. (More Mike Coolbaugh stories.)
