Joran Van der Sloot has retracted his confession to murdering Stephany Flores, claiming he was “tricked” into signing it. “I was very scared and confused during the interrogations and wanted to get away,” Van der Sloot told Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, adding that police promised a confession would get him transferred back to the Netherlands. “In my blind panic, I signed everything, but didn't even know what it said.”
“I was tricked” and intimidated by police, Van der Sloot said, temptingly adding, “I'll explain later how it all happened.” He added that rats crawl through his toilet hole and into his cell at night, the AP reports.
