Rockies Remain Undefeated

The Colorado Rockies held on to their postseason win streak last night courtesy of Arizona closer Jose Valverde, who walked in the winning run with two out in the 11th. The Diamondbacks put up a good fight, tying the game in the ninth and outhitting the Rockies, but the return of Willy Taveras spelled doom for Arizona, reports the Denver Post.

Before he was walked to push in the final run, Taveras dashed and dove to catch Tony Clark's line drive and neutralize a potential Arizona rally. The Rockies, who have won 19 of their last 20 games, have never earned a National League pennant, but have a good chance now as they return to Denver tomorrow night with a 2-0 series lead.
