A marauding bear or bears attacked two campsites in Montana yesterday, killing one middle-aged man and injuring a man and a woman. The attack took place at Soda Butte campgrounds, just outside Yellowstone National Park. Local authorities are still trying to determine what type of bear was responsible, and what may have drawn animals to the site. There are no reports of improperly stored food, notes CNN.

Witnesses, meanwhile, describe a terrifying late-night scene: "It was like a nightmare," said one man who heard, but did not see, the attack. "Words cannot describe what it's like to hear someone attacked by a bear." His wife told AP they heard a female victim scream: "No!" and then yell, "It's a bear! I've been attacked by a bear!"
