Porn Seeps Into Workplace Via Laptops and Phones

It's been a decade since the advent of online pornography started driving down productivity in offices, but new portable technologies have made it easier than ever to beat firewalls and check out naughty pictures on the job. USA Today writes that while 65% of American companies use porn-blocking software, it's still coming into the workplace—on laptops, cell phones, and other employee-owned machines.

Whether from sexual desire or the rush of the forbidden, employees are logging on in ever greater numbers. A spate of porn-at-work lawsuits have reached American courts recently: in one, an IBM worker booted for chatting on an adult website sued the company, claiming that he needed the sexy chat to combat post-traumatic stress disorder brought on from his time in Vietnam.
