(AP Photo/Dave Martin) This is sure to go over real well with the public: BP is expected to report today that it has spent $1 million a week advertising since the oil spill. The figure will be part of the company's report to the US House of Representatives, the Telegraph reports. The ad campaign, which features employees helping with the clean-up, has already sparked President Obama's ire. He warned BP, "What I don't want to hear is, when they're spending that kind of money on their shareholders and on TV advertising, that they're nickel-and-diming fishermen or small businesses here in the Gulf." Similarly, Rep. Kathy Castor believes that if "you're going to spend money on advertising it should be spent on advertising tourism and reviving the economy of Florida, rather than BP's corporate image," a rep says.
