Fox News host Geraldo Rivera found the crowd pretty hostile to his network when he attempted to report on the Occupy Wall Street movement from New York City's Zucotti Park. Hecklers chanted "Fox News lies" as Rivera conducted interviews and: "Na Na Na Na, Hey Hey Hey, Goodbye," as he left the park, reports the New York Daily News. Fox denies that protesters forced Rivera and his crew to flee the park. A YouTube video that apparently shows protesters sending Rivera packing was heavily edited, the network says.
Rivera's coverage of the protests actually seemed reasonably sympathetic, at least compared to the "smug and condescending" tone adopted by his colleagues at Fox, Mediaite notes. "The crowd is easy to mock," he said. "They are disorganized. They look funny. Some, like the person putting the paper in front of the lens are aggressive. But they have a real, legitimate complaint deep down and it is a message that I think will resonate eventually as people listen up." (More Geraldo Rivera stories.)
