Steve Jobs Action Figure Scrapped

The company behind the eerily lifelike Steve Jobs action figure has killed the project after receiving complaints and threats of legal action from Apple and the Jobs family. Officials from the Hong Kong firm In Icon say that while they believe the $100 doll does not violate copyright laws because it doesn't come with likenesses of any Apple products, they have no wish to offend the family of the late Apple chief, the Los Angeles Times reports.

"We have received immense pressure from the lawyers of Apple and Steve Jobs' family," says In Icon's chief, who describes the doll as a tribute to Jobs. "Though we still believe that we have not overstepped any legal boundaries, we have decided to completely stop the offer, production and sale of the Steve Jobs figurine out of our heartfelt sensitivity to the feelings of the Jobs family." Customers who pre-ordered the doll will receive full refunds.
